EV Charging stations

EV charging stations function similarly to fueling petrol or diesel vehicles to generate power to move. The EV charging process is simple, like charging any electric appliance with a port.

However, if you’re in the USA and want to find the nearest EV charging point near you, first understand the type of charging station that will suit the battery of your EV. There are many different methods to charge your battery Pack:

An EV is manufactured in a region of North America and sold there and is capable of charging with both level 1 or level 2 charging stations. For a compatible EV with a DCFC level 3 fast charging, you can also rely on a level 2 charging station.

There are three types of EV Charging stations.

Level 1 Charging Station.

Level 2 Charging Station.

Level 3 Charging Station.

Level 1 charging stations:

These charging stations transmit a current of 120 volts AC to charge EVs. This method is slower and more time-consuming. The miles covered per hour in level 1 charging stations are lower than those in level 2 and level 3.

Level two charging Station:

These charging stations transmit 240 volts AC and transmit a higher power than daily-used appliances. These charging stations can negatively affect the EV’s per-hour battery miles range. Level 2 stations charge vehicles in less time. It takes about 4-8 hours to charge the EV battery to 100%. Charging EVs at level two charging stations costs in-between $0.20 and $0.25 per kWh.

Level three charging Station (DC fast charger):

Level three charging stations have higher voltages than level one and two Charging stations. Here, the battery is directly charged with a high-voltage current of 50 KW to 400 KW, and its fully charged within 12 to 45 minutes. The approximate cost of charging EVs ranges from $20 to $40.

EV’s Charging Station in the USA

53000 EV charging stations are installed at different locations in the country but that’s too far away from the number of gas stations.
